Are you ready for the cake?

Because I've got a lot of cake to show you.
Today is Labor Day, and the Cake Shop is closed. Labor Day is a holiday which honors the Labor Movement in general, but also some specific worker's strikes- like the Pullman Strike of 1894, where 250,000 workers led a wildcat strike that brought the railroad industry to its knees. (thanks, Nathanael, for the historical research)
But for the past two days, we've been open. And by open I mean SLAMMED. We pulled off 5 wedding cakes and a street festival when all was said and done- and I appreciate so much the hard work of my kick-ass cake crew, Jenne, Nathanael, Shannon, Tara, Sydney, and Dana.
Here are some pictures of the weekend.
