Large serves 30 and costs $45.

Please place your order 48 hours in advance.

Happy Mardi Gras, Y'all!

Happy 2nd Birthday to the Cake Shop! (And: New, Expanded Hours!)

You are invited to join the Short Street Cakes family in celebrating two beautiful years at 225 Haywood Road! The shop will be open 10am to 6pm with specials on King Cakes and Cupcakes, as well as live music and free Mardi Gras beads.

Beginning at 6pm, we clear the tables in the shop and make way for DJ Steadylove to take us into the evening with an old-school dance party, with light snacks, wine and beer.

We want to thank you for the tremendous love and support we have received from the community over these past years, and we look forward to many more years of Love and Cake in Asheville!

Our Anniversary Party also marks the beginning of our new, expanded offerings (a variety of whole cakes on hand every day) our new, expanded hours (Monday through Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and Sunday 10am til 2pm) and our new, expanded events and services (Old School Cake School Baking Classes and Birthday Parties for Kids!)

And on Sunday, March 6th, starting at 2pm, We will Roll as the Krewe of Cake in Asheville's Downtown Mardi Gras Parade (There are rumors of Cupcake Throws, yall)! The theme of this year's Mardi Gras is "Homegrown, Fancy, and Free!" As for the Krewe of Cake's theme, well, you'll just have to wait and see!

Happy Mardi Gras Season, and Happy Birthday, Short Street Cakes!

With Much Love and Gratitude,

Jodi and the Cake Shop Krewe

Short Street Cakes Cupcake Wars Audition Video by Peter Parpan!

So, I got a call on Thursday night from the Food Network, asking me to submit an audition video for their 3rd season of Cupcake Wars. Being that I don't believe in war, and I don't have cable or watch television, I think I'm the perfect contestant. My friend Peter Parpan recorded and edited this little video in a day and a half, all on his iphone. I am so lucky to have so many talented and amazing people in my life. And I'm having lots of fun, doing silly stuff like this. I'm grateful for the opportunity, and I wonder what the future holds?
